Stone Embrace

Stone Embrace

Set on a rocky hillside in Paros, the project takes cues from a nest discovered hidden among the bushes during the first site visit. Alongside, we encountered circular stone walls built to protect trees from wind and animals. These site-specific elements informed the design of two houses, where the volumes themselves shape sheltered, introverted outdoor spaces. Load-bearing stone walls, constructed with material sourced from on-site excavations, anchor the buildings into the terrain while minimizing structural footprint. The result is an architecture that emerges from the land, both protective and concealed—like the nest that inspired it.
